A second outing for my favourite mind-bender; Escher.

a friend asked me if I had a wallpaper version of the original Mindscape picture, so I thought I'd knock one up from the original but having looked back at it I had the urge to have another crack at it for a laugh.

Rendered over a day in 3D Studio and Bryce. Colour tweaked in Photoshop. Total preparation and touch-up time 30 mins :giggle:

I had planned to do loads more to it, but the render is so complex that anything I added was just lost in the detail. I could stare at this one for hours, there's o much going on :)

damn that's cool. i've got the escher version on the wall beside me, and this one does is plenty of justice. a bit dark i think though -- looses too much detail.
great work. loooooove the colours

Wow...escher with reflections...The depth of this piece is absolutely stunning...you've taken a classic piece of art and given it an entire extra dimension...its brought into a more modern appeal and with it comes a bit of desperation to find order thats just not there, because every time you turn around you find what appears to be another landmark...o is it a reflection. You're right you could stare at it for hours.

This should definitely be a print.

If there was anything to change it would be the dark areas...there's just not nearly as much going on there that you can see because of the dark shading...perhaps a little brighter lighting in some spots could have made this one a wee bit better, but its still a top notch image.
