Lament of the Weary by zilla774 Lament of the Weary by zilla774
2 hours pure Photoshop work.

===== ===== =====

I am very very nervous about submitting this piece because this is also quite a milestone for me. this is the first submission from me in a completely new style. It is 100% photoshop. I have been practicing over the past week or so some new styles and this was supposed to be a practice in itself, but it kinda took a life of its own.

the picture itself is very emotive for me, i started off the scene just doodling an idea. It represents how I feel at the moment - stressed out, strung out, tired and emotional.

I hope all my devwatchers understand my new direction and like it for what it is - 100% me. My first steps in a brave new world.

I looked back from the most recent work you submitted from the early ones you did (the mixed 3D+photoshop) ones. You have worked a lot and practiced and succeeded. Seeing the path of the growth of a good artist is such a good lesson for a starter like me... Thanks. It is truely helpful...

thats exactly why I leave my old work up. to prove to people that they can do it too. I have a 'warts and all' approach to my gallery

This is just fantastic. It feels so raw - the power of it just leaps out of the screen at me. I simply adored your 3D work - I can't imagine what you'll be doing next if this is just "practice." You are a truly amazing artist - keep it up always! Beautiful, really beautiful... It kind of makes me want to reach out to him, yet something about him makes me afraid... Perhaps that is why he seems so alone?

Lovely texture work aswell. I 'd have to rate this amongst your best, prolly because i can relate to the effort placed more, since i am 100% photoshop user aswell!. Great work ian

looks like there was no need to be nervous about this :D

absolutely stunning work d00d

the colour and the wind swept roughness definitly bring out the emotions you want. I love the way the cape blends into the mountains, and the hint of power eminating from the earth in front of you...

this is by far my fav of the different styles you do other than 3d abstract. very well done and good luck for the furture :+fav:

Wow.

Landscape aflame.

Lone figure like a sentinel or guardian of the road to hell.

I can feel the hot dusty wind. Hear it howling through the rocks.

Beautiful.

Thank you.

Bravo and congrats on your new path (in life and in art) I took the path in the opposite direction several years ago!

Having started with traditional medium and moving first to paint programs and no a very strange combination of 3d & 2d work.

It is harder than it looks.... but you seem to be adapting very well!

Thanks for sharing!
