Succubus. Legend has it that these daemons prey on mortal men while they sleep. Part of the Lilim, the female counterpart to the
Baatezu, it seems these daemons are far from confined only to nightmares. This one has taken the flesh of a young woman and fashioned herself a mask, covering her disfigured face to help lure more unwitting dreamers to their doom (cue evil laugh).
I for one will never sleep again.

thank christ for that! I've finally finished this monstrosity!

This has taken days and days and days of tweaking to get to a point where I'm happy with it. I even completely rebuilt the face at one point, giving it all teeth and snarls and stuff, but it lost that completely creepy smiley beauty that it had gotten over the time I originally sketched it.
I have to admit that I did start this as a project to attempt to paint a decent beautiful women, something I have never acheived. One of the reasons I've never achieved it is ITS SO FUCKING HARD TO DRAW THE FEMALE FORM, or rather it is for me

Again, this was no exception, I did the torso ok, I even managed the face and the eyes (something I am really pleased with) but the legs, arms and hands COMPLETELY defeated me

So it wasn't a difficult descision to just admit that I'm better at fucked up dark stuff and take the left hand path straight to hell. So she gets creepy arms and hands, and I remove the hair and put in a mask and bingo. Flesh crawling time
All work achieved in Photoshop with my Intuos2. Various reference used for the body (well that was my excuse for looking at lots of half naked women on the net anyway

)
Close ups in my scraps soon.
Reminds me a bit of the ads for Saw 5 or was it Saw V?
I like the "pretty" mask. It allowes the viewer to make up in his/her own mind what this demon really looks like underneath the mask, therefore making it as terrifying as possible to each individual. Nicely done.
