Artist's Comments

Continuing my occasional look into the seven deadly sins. This is my interpretation of the sin of Pride, also known as Vanity (I preferred Vanity over Pride, how very vain of me.... ;))

This is dedicated to `dualdesigns as it is with a great picture of her in her wedding dress that inspired this picture. I was a little cautious at first because I knew what I wanted to do to the image and I didn't want to offend her, but she assured me that I was free to 'work my magic' with it. Can't say I didn't warn her tho ;)

Apart from the picture from Amy, there are a couple of cobwebs in there from stock-xchang to fill it out a little. I did try my besterest to do my own, honest to god, but ffs HOW DIFFICULT, plus I wanted to finish this inside a year....

Created in Photoshop across 2 days.

Very, very nice. Can I ask how you achieved the whitness of the skin? Is it part of a texture or did you hand paint it? I'm asking because I want to do something but cannot get the desired effect of white make-up, sort of like geisha skin...... Awsome work!

i always work in black and white right up to the end. Adding the colour is the last thing I do. That way I have total control over what I want the end result to be

lovely image and meaning. I think I like the half lips/ half skull jaw section the best. I wish the eye sockets were more centered...I also love the background textures, the cobwebs definatly worked out nicely! Well done!
