Well, after knowing I could do better I have spent almost as many hours touching up, tweaking, rerendering and generally having a right nightmare. I have spent in excess of 50 hours on this now, so I really hope the work will have paid off.

This is part one of this submission. I wanted to submit this as is because I really like the crop of the image. The original is a 1600x1200 wallpaper. I will be releasing the full desky in due course, its worth checking out if u like this version as there is LOADS of background detail and lots more to the image overall.

Rendered in VueD'esprit, Murdered, hacked, ruined, tweaked, coloured, pushed, shoved and cried over in Photoshop.

Please, please tell me u like this, its darn near cost me my sanity. ;)

Very nice! However, i think u may have gotten carried away with all the detail in the background, as opposed to the figure, which is cool, but not as detailed in some parts as the rest of the pic. (the hair for example). Furtermore, the wings have a very cartoony look to them- not quite so realistic as the rest of the pic. If that's intentional, it's ok, 'cause it's still a cool effect. :-) Generally, the whole pic IS cool despite my bitching around! I admire yor patience too! I would have killed myself before the first render... :crazy:

This has to be the best rendered angel type pose I have ever seen thus far!

I can appreciate the time and effort you have put into this, and I understand that you don't want to spend any more time on it, but you HAVE to make this a print!

I love the effect on the wings and all the detail in the backdrop :D

whole piece is nearly perfect, but! >_< *hides behind a pillar*

i personally think the eyes lighting and shadows etc can be adjusted, it looks a little wierd (unpleasent to the eye?) and also i thought the headpiece could be changed to maybe blue ruby/deep blue sapphire/black stone? might go better with the whole thing.

but but. it's really VERY beautiful.
