Well, for once, this is almost exactly how I saw this in my head this morning. I have no idea why I thought of it, but as with a lot of my work it just kinda appeared because I quite liked the phrase 'sleeping with the fishes'. Go figure.
I did a very quick sketch of this in Photoshop, taking about 30 minutes to rough things in before I had to go out into town, then put the ret into place when I got home. The finishing details took roughly 3 hours to get in, even though its very rough and ready.
I have to admit that the big nightmare fishes REALLY freak me out, and I mean seriously. They are from somewhere in my head I don't often go, but they just wierd me out. Maybe that helps the image, maybe not, but to be honest I'm glad it's done.
Originally conceived for a print, so I think the fishes in the middle look a little small maybe in the wallpaper. I dunno.
