Practicing painting in Photoshop... This was pretty quick, like about three hours maybe? I totally cheated on the hands and just left the stock showing through. I suck at hands.
Again with my work, it's vibe not accuracy here, I always like the slightly scratchy painted look, rather than the smooth realistic tones.
Love the composition and tones in this - absolutely gorgeous. The textures in the bit of background n the top right makes my mouth water
My only critique really is that the body and the face don't mesh at all. The face, and hair to some extent, are painted to a high degree of realism and the rest is looser. This could work if the transition was more gradual I think, but as it is, it's a bit mask like. I know it's SO easy to get caught up in the face (I do it a lot and then have to remove detail D: ) but after nagging from my lecturers I'm getting the hang of working more evenly through something
I'd really like to see what you could do with a face in the same style as the torso - because I am absolutely loving the way her flesh folds as she twists.
But overall, I love the colour palette, the colour balance and composition is spot on, and it's a great piece
I just wanted to let you know that we are adding your image to our list of Favorites as a fine example of an Artistic Nude. Thank you for helping to prove that nudity does not equal pornography!
I've been trying some digital painting also, but maybe was too ambicious, cause I'm trying to paint an aged woman's face from scratch and it has been really hard, can't find any tutorials for that cause everyone want's to paint pretty faces... meh
Ne way, this looks very good, I love the textures in the background and the way u painted her skin is almost fauvist(I don't know if the word's correct).
