Today marks my 5th year anniversary of being on deviantART.
Five years. Wow.
That's technically longer than i was married for, especially given that I joined dA *before* I got married and I'm still here *after* I got divorced...
Remember kids, a dA account is for life, not just for christmas.
With the new version of deviantART just around the corner I've got to say I'm extremely excited by the reaction so far. The beta testing has been going really well, not because we've not had problems and bugs, that's not what the beta testing is about, rather we've received a crapload of really great suggestions for improvements which we're currently sorting (in fact, Beta v2 has just been released for review).
On a personal level to find myself, five years down the line, actually working for deviantART has come as quite a shock. I never expected to be spending 24/7 working on the site, but I can tell you now that it's the BEST experience. It may well be incredibly daunting releasing work to such a close knit community and it's hard to not feel the weight of the community bearing down on me... but then I see what we're creating here at deviantTechnology between the creative team and the IT team and I get the tingly feeling again. I've never worked with such a creative and focused group of people, it's a blast, truely.
In terms of my personal art, I'm still on a journey and my work is still improving. I may not get as much time to do art these days (but everyday is waaaayyy more creative in different ways) but Im very happy that the work I am creating now is a lot lot better.... at least I think so. My techniques have certainly improved if not the subject matter

so yay, five years
