It's really choppy and suuuuuper scribbly because I took like 30 seconds to draw each frame. Please fill in the gaps and gloss over the art with your wonderful imagination! I made it in Windows Movie Maker which is an absolutely evil program =o=

Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me. :la:

The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

New Guitar *yay*

Just treated myself to a new guitar. After selling all my stage and recording gear (and a couple of guitars) I spent some of the proceeds on a new 7 string Ibanez.

This to be precise:



omnomnomnomnom.

Big shout out to the guys at GuitarGuitar in Birmingham. The tech guy i spent time with was a legend, we had funtiemz cranking out some sick tunes and setting up the guitar to my specifications. Seriously, those guys are great.

The guitar is EVIL sounding on the low end. I've dropped the B to an A already and its so slick. The CAP series humbuckers are so awesome compared to the INFinity series on my S-model Ibanez. Some great bluesy sounds too. Most impressed.

Needless to say I know what I'll be doing most of this weekend.... (when I'm not building decking in the garden that is.). djentdjentdjentchugsqueel.

I like a lot of music. I most enjoy playing jazz. I worked for a long time as a sound engineer with a rock band and while I really love a lot of rock music, I found the jazz scene a much more enjoyable experience :).

Much less ego and image and more genuine appreciation of musical talent.
