The "popular" page should be just that. I'm not sure how they're deciding what is allowed to stay at the top and what isn't, but if something has more favs than all the other works, that's what should be on the front page. it's very annoying to see something with 7 favs, horribly done, 6000k +pageviews on the cover. It makes no sense, and while the idea of not having a ton of popart on the front is novel, the result is MUCH worse.

i mean, the popular keep on getting more popular, and sometimes it shows up really CRAP stuff, and i don't understand how come sometimes appear on the front page a piece with 1 fav, when i get like 10 favs my artwork never appears on the front page, how come? LOL :lol:
seriously, it keeps on showing a lot of crap in the front page -_-.

popular will centre only around specialised artists, ne? they will keep getting more popular (even with mediocre posts) and so therefore not enough attention is given to all the artists on DA overall i think~
and 'popular'... whose definition of popular?
the administrators, or the community as a whole?

I feel it's better in that the variety is good, but the system could be better. Like, for example, having an artist's work appear on the front page for at least a week or a month after they have had one up to promote a bigger variety.

I still didn't get a definitive answer about the new policy actually... I still don't know why some works with just 10 or 4 favs goes to the DTF....

I though the DTF was a "ranking"...
